@dbrgn, thank you for the hint. I have included the last published source code in the repo. Please try to build the new version.
The shutdown of the upstream website is a strong indication to abandon this package, though. Or is there maybe a fork I don't know of?

The ripit sources seem to be gone:

Is there something we could do about this? I still have the 'ripit-4.0.0_beta20131030.tar.bz2' archive on my computer. It doesn't currently run anymore though:
Unescaped left brace in regex is illegal here in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/(%(?:=)?(w|{ <-- HERE (?:w|[^w{}]|[{}])*}|W))/ at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/MP3/Tag.pm line 2610.

@danilo: Thanks for the input. I uploaded your PKGBUILD, but left the pkgrel at '1', so you might want to downgrade.

dbrgn commented on 2014-01-28 19:48

Additionally I added the 'backup=' line to the PKGBUILD. The old version just overwrote my configfile on update :/

dbrgn commented on 2014-01-28 19:45

Here's an updated beta PKGBUILD: http://tmp.dbrgn.ch/ripit.PKGBUILD.txt
I switched from sha256sums to md5sums because the author provides md5 sums, but no sha256 sums for the uploaded files.

You're right twelveeighty, thanks for the hint. I just added the missing dependency to the list.

twelveeighty commented on 2013-08-18 22:18

I believe you need to add perl-mp3-tag as a dependency. Without it, I get the following error trying to run ripit:
Can't locate MP3/Tag.pm in @INC (you may need to install the MP3::Tag module)
Thanks for the package, by the way!
